The Cork Tree provides a buoyant cork bark material, taken from the Quercus suber, the cork oak has been used for centuries for buoys and protection against docks.

Once the cork oak tree matures at 25 years old the cork bark will be stripped from the tree trunks. This process will be repeat every nine years with the cork tree life of 300 years.
