The monarch butterfly likes the milkweed plant and is in the Nymphalidae family. Also named depending on region milkweed, common tiger, wanderer, and black veined brown butterflys. Most easily identified by it’s orange wings with black veins.
Often called either names, the tortoise and turtle are both reptiles belonging to the Testudines or Chelonia. They are identified as reptiles having bodies encased in a bony shell.
The difference is tortoises dwell on land versus turtles live in the water some or all of the time.
Baby 24″ long Alligator suns himself at the edge of a small shallow pond which is full of small fish and away from the larger gators. Couple bigger gator pics at end.
